Graphic Novels

Just finished Watchmen...I think it didn't resonate with me as strongly as it might with people who lived during the Cold War or were close to people who lived during the Cold War--nuclear war doesn't feel as pressing to me, and the violence and the pirate story within the larger story really shook me up.  Also, it kinda reminded me of the movie Sin City in that I felt mildly confused, dark, and uncomfortable the whole time I read it--particularly since graphic images of violence have started to bother me a lot in the last year or so.  I think I'm happy to stick with Fables in the graphic novel world, which is a series about all the fairy tale creatures and people living in New York together.  And, of course, I'll always love Elfquest and the Myth Adventures graphic novels, which I had discovered long ago on my dad's bookshelves.

Now to find something that will make me feel happy again...
